How to Tie REINS

This type of knot prevents the reins from coming loose or slipping, and is very easy to tie and untie after a few tries
First of all the lead rope needs to measure about 3.6 metres. Standing on the left side of your horse, place the lead rope over it's neck and onto the other side

Find the area just above where the halter attaches to the lead rope. Now take the end of the lead rope and starting with enough lead, wind it three times around this place. Notice the circles are descending downwards and they're going anti clockwise

Once you've made the third circle, pass the end of the lead rope up and through the area where all parts of the halter come into the knot

Thread the end of the lead rope through the last two circles and tighten Always make sure there's not too much length hanging down because when the horse moves, it will flick the horse in the face. With practice doing it a few times, you'll get to know how much length you need to start with. Also you'll get quicker and quicker at tying and tightening the knot as well. It takes a few times, but you'll be amazed at how fast and easy this becomes
